Net Zero at Melbourne Design Week
As part of the 2024 Melbourne Design week, Net Zero precincts will hold a terrarium building workshop.
What might net-zero futures feel like? What kinds of new relationships to energy, mobility, and buildings will people need for this future to become a reality?
‘Net Zero Possible Futures’ invites participants to explore these questions through experimental terrarium building. Using natural and artificial materials, we’ll engage in a process of prototyping speculative terrarium ‘worlds’ which will explore the possibilities (and fantasies) of a net-zero future. Participants will engage in rich conversations about net-zero, what it means to them and what might inspire meaningful net-zero futures.
This workshop builds on findings from the Net Zero Precincts project, a collaboration between Emerging Technologies Research lab and the Monash Sustainability Development Institute.

Date: Wednesday 29 May
Time: 2-4:30pm
Venue: Victorian Pride Centre, 79/81 Fitzroy St, St Kilda
