EVENT: Future Sex (9-14 May)

Engage and interact with Anna-bot: the sex robot with a twist

Our co-existence with technology permeates every facet of life, down to the most intimate aspects.

In a unique example of human-computer interaction design, Future Sex brings together art, robotics and gender studies to give participants a first-hand encounter with the future of technology use in sexual interactions.

Adult participants are invited to step inside an enclosed pod where they can customise the personality of a intimate robotic prototype, Anna-bot, before engaging with her in conversation. However, Anna-bot isn’t all she seems.

As part of ongoing research exploring female voice and aesthetic design in erotic technologies, Future Sex challenges the expectations of sexbots formed through popular culture. It brings attention to how interactive technologies can meaningfully connect with people and seeks to promote a future of technology design with greater justice, equity, consent, inclusion and safety.
