Methods for the edge (by invitation)

12/8/2023 01:00 pm 12/8/2023 05:00 pm Australia/Melbourne Methods for the edge (by invitation)

This event explores methods for investigating futures at/in/from the edge. How can we respond methodologically to a decentralising vision? How can we investigate with people, other species, environment and emerging technologies as we slip over the edge into as yet unknown futures, can methods respond to or be propelled by edges? How can we constitute research forward, away from the centre?

Participants are invited to give a short introduction to their methods and a response to the brief above. We will then work collectively to develop a shared agenda for futures-focused methods, to share what the idea of the edge means or can mean for us, to understand how our different approaches align and connect, and to consider what might be next.

We hope that this workshop will lead to an interdisciplinary agenda, a continuing forum tor talking about methods and a publication.

This event is by invitation only. To express interest in attending write to emergingtechlab@monash.edu with the subject heading: Methods for the Edge
