Graduation ceremony – Malaysia

Dreaming of your moment in the spotlight where your name is called out and you stride across the stage to receive your award certificate? A graduation ceremony will fulfil that dream. And an on-stage photo will capture the moment.

Your faculty’s graduation ceremony is a formal occasion to celebrate your achievement with family and friends, who can either come along as ticketed guests or view a livestream of the ceremony from home.

We've made some changes to our normal graduation plans so our ceremonies meet the latest COVID-19 restrictions and safety protocols. We ask you to follow these protocols, and bring them to the attention of your guests to make the day a safe and happy experience for all.

You need to arrive in plenty of time for the ceremony. If you arrive late, you may not be able to take part in the ceremony.

  • Dress code

As your graduation is a formal event, it’s a good idea to dress as if you’re attending a business interview. Your graduation gown is three-quarter length and draped at the front, so keep in mind that your clothing will show underneath. Also make sure you wear footwear suitable for going up and down a few flights of stairs.

  • Parents with children

Children under one can come along free of charge, but they must be seated on the lap of a guest who can supervise them. Children aged one or older will need a ticket to attend a ceremony. Prams are not permitted in the Ballroom.

Live streaming

Your ceremony will be live streamed on the Monash University Malaysia Facebook page, so your family and friends can watch it from home.
