Panagiotopoulou Laboratory

Moving Morphology and
Functional Mechanics

Welcome to the Panagiotopoulou Lab

My lab is interested in the mechanical, developmental and physiological determinants of the vertebrate musculoskeletal system from clinical and basic science perspectives.

We're part of the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, and a member of the Development & Stem Cells Program and the Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology.

Our research

Using a combination of in vivo experimental techniques, material testing, musculoskeletal simulations and mathematical models we study the effect of developmental changes in musculoskeletal mechanics and scaling factors during ontogeny on the morphology and the composition of musculoskeletal design.
