Bushfire Crisis Student Grant

If you’ve been impacted by the 2019/2020 bushfires, grants of up to $2,000 are available to support you in your studies at Monash.

What the grant can be used for

Money provided through a grant can be used for essential living expenses and such things as laptops (to meet BYOD requirements), course materials or other unexpected expenses.

This money does not have to be paid back.

To be eligible for a grant, you must:

  • be currently enrolled at a Monash University campus in Australia in semester one 2020
  • reside in a bushfire affected area
  • provide a single piece of certified evidence demonstrating hardship as a result of the bushfires. This may include a police report, insurance report, or certified statutory declaration.

If you're deferring your enrolment for 6 to 12 months or taking intermission, you won't be eligible for this grant.

How to apply

You can apply for a grant of up to $2,000. You need to complete a short form and provide a document to support your application.
