Medibank, ahm and nib OSHC policy holders
Due to the cybersecurity incident impacting ahm, nib and Medibank OSHC policy holders, if you’re a patient with ahm, nib or Medibank OSHC cover, you’ll need to pay for your consultation on the day. You can submit a claim directly to your insurance company afterwards.
We’re working to enable direct billing again as soon as possible.

Vaccinations and procedures
We keep our fees low for the Monash Community, but you might be charged an additional fee for procedures, dressings and vaccinations – we’ll discuss this with you beforehand.
You may have to pay a private fee for your doctor’s appointment if you’re having a procedure, but you can claim a refund from Medicare afterwards.
Staff
We charge a discounted fee for your appointment, but you'll need to pay for vaccines and medicines. For work-related travel and immunisations, you’ll need to pay for your visit and claim a refund from your faculty or department.
Appointment types
A telehealth appointment is an appointment with a doctor that’s done through phone or video call. If you’ve tested positive for COVID-19, or are required to isolate, you’ll need to book a telehealth appointment.
If you’re a new patient, or you haven't visited one of our UHS clinics for a face-to-face appointment in the last 12 months, you’ll need to come into the clinic for a face-to-face appointment (you won’t be able to book a telehealth appointment).
- clinical placement
- childhood vaccinations
- antenatal care
- wound care
- cervical screening
- blood pressure checks
- pathology tests.
If you're coming in, you'll need your:
- Monash ID card
- Medicare, OSHC, or Health Care Card
- IHI number (for non-Medicare cardholders).
Registration forms
If you’re a new patient, you’ll need to complete a registration form before your first visit.
You can either register online through HotDoc:
Or print and fill out the patient registration form (pdf, 0.06 mb).
Make sure you bring it with you on your first visit.
Non-Medicare cardholders
All non-Medicare cardholders will need to have an IHI number to receive electronic prescriptions. This means that if you see a doctor for a telehealth appointment, they can send your script to you electronically (usually via SMS).
