When to apply

Withdrawn from the unit?

  • Withdrawn (WDN): If you’ve withdrawn from a unit after the census date, you can apply for fee reversal right away, you don’t need to wait.
  • Withdrawn Fail (WN): If you have a Withdrawn Fail grade, you can apply for fee reversal and a WDN grade as soon as you’ve withdrawn and your grade is finalised on your record (you don’t need to wait until results release).

Fee reversal and WDN grade

You’ll need to apply within 10 University working days from the unit results release date. If you have an interim grade for your unit (WH, DEF or NS), you’ll need to wait until that grade is finalised.

Fee reversal only

If you withdrew after the census date, you'll need to apply for a fee reversal within 12 months of withdrawing from the unit.

If you failed, you'll need to apply within 12 months of the last day of the teaching period for that unit.

Late applications

We may accept a late application if we’re satisfied that it was not possible for you to submit it by the deadline, but (you’ll need to provide evidence to support this).

You’ll still be required to pay the full fee amount up front for your current and previous teaching periods by the due date while you wait for your application to be assessed.
