Team Monash celebrates a successful UniSport Nationals campaign
Team Monash has wrapped up an incredible week at the 2026 UniSport Nationals, taking home numerous medals as well as the Overall South Trophy and Spirit of the South award.
Held from 26 September to 2 October in Perth, this year’s event saw more than 410 of our student-athletes represent Monash University across 37 teams and 24 sports, supported by a dedicated team of coaches, officials and support staff.
Across the week, Team Monash finished with six pennants in Dodgeball, Basketball, Judo, Golf, Ultimate Frisbee and Badminton, and 66 medals (including 14 gold, 23 silver and 29 bronze), showcasing the depth, talent and determination of our student-athletes.

- Mixed Dodgeball Division 1 - Gold (back-to-back years)
- Mixed Ultimate Frisbee - Gold
- Women’s Basketball Division 1 - Gold
- Men’s Badminton - Gold
- Judo: 1 Gold (three-time consecutive champions), 2 Silver, 3 Bronze
- Fencing: 3 Gold, 4 Silver, 6 Bronze
- Golf: 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze
- Taekwondo: 9 Gold, 14 Silver, 12 Bronze
- Men’s Kendo Rei Sato - Silver
- Men’s Futsal - Silver
- Women’s Volleyball - Bronze
- Men’s Touch Football - Bronze
- Men’s Basketball Div 2 - Bronze
- Mixed Netball Div 2 - Bronze
- Women’s Table Tennis Team 1 - Bronze
- Mixed 8+ Team Rowing - Bronze
This year also marked the debut of a new-look Team Monash uniform, giving our athletes an unmistakable ‘Blue’ identity throughout the week. From the competition venues to the sidelines, our team was bleeding Blue through and through, proudly representing Monash and each other.
We were also pleased to support six Monash Physiotherapy students to attend Nationals and work alongside our teams, providing valuable support to our student-athletes while gaining practical, real-world experience in a high-performance sporting environment.
While the results tell one part of the story, the week was about much more than the scoreboard. Across Perth, Team Monash brought energy and connection to every venue at which we competed. That spirit was recognised with the Spirit of the South award, celebrating the team’s sportsmanship, community and pride throughout the week.
With the Overall South Trophy also heading back to Monash, it was a fitting finish to an outstanding campaign. Six pennants. 66 medals. Two major team awards. One very proud Team Monash.
