Students in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) get help from the government and pay a lower course fee called the student contribution amount.
See student contribution amount to estimate your fees.
The level of support and your payment options depend on your citizenship:
Please note, you will also need to pay a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)
When you first enrol using the Web Enrolment System (WES), you need to accept your place by completing the Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP form.
If you can get a HECS-HELP discount or loan, a menu item of HECS-HELP appears in the WES Enrolment Summary area.
If you cannot get it, you can still enrol in a Commonwealth supported place, but you cannot get a discount for an upfront payment or use a loan.
If you change course, you must apply for CSP for the new course.
We send you a fee statement based on your unit enrolment. See fee payment dates
If you are paying your SCA directly to the University, you must pay it by the due date. See fee payment methods
To avoid paying fees for units you do not want to take, you must discontinue them by the census date
If you do not pay on time, and we do not have your tax file number if you have HECS-HELP, we will cancel your enrolment after census date.
You cannot re-enrol as a Commonwealth supported student until the next semester.
Accepting your CSP place with HECS-HELP allows you to obtain a loan from the government for all or part of your student contribution amount. The loan offer remains open to you even if you choose not to use it. HECS-HELP includes a 10% discount for full or partial upfront payments to the University of $500 or more.
Before submitting your acceptance of your CSP place, you must select whether you plan to use a loan or not.
After submitting, WES gives you a transaction number beginning with C. You need to record this. We also email a copy to your Monash account.
If you do not have a tax file number, you can only select the upfront SCA payment option. You can change this in WES up to the census date.
