Canada Financial AidEligible Canadian residents who are enrolled at least half time in a degree program atMonash University may be eligible for student loans. Monash University is an approved institution for Canadian student loans purposes and most of our international students from Canada receive financial assistance to fund their studies. The Canadian Government splits the burden of providing subsidized student loans with provincial or territorial assistance. Federal, provincial and territorial governments all offer student loan programs to assist students through school. They are awarded on the basis of financial need. Canada Student Loans (CSL) Program is the federally subsidized loans that are interest-free while student remains enrolled at least half time. In Ontario, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador, the provincial based loans programs are integrated which means only one application is required for both CSL and the provincial based loans. All remaining provinces and territories (except Yukon), have stand-alone provincial based loans programs which means two separate applications are needed – one for CSL and the other for the provincial loan of the where you reside. More information on student loans and access to online application are available at CanLearn website.
