I am currently studying 3rd year civil engineering. As a person who enjoys keeping active, my hobbies include playing basketball, tai chi, hiking and bushwalking. A quirky fact about myself is that I enjoy travelling to random places in Melbourne. One piece of advice for new students to Monash: make use of all the student services available. This includes programs offered by MSA Welfare Department as well as learning advisers at the libraries.
Hey I'm Amjed A.K.A Teddy!!! Currently in my third Year of Aerospace Engineering. If you've ever interested in basketball, photography, cool socks, HSP or gaming I'm your guy!!! I'm going into my third year as a member of NRC and second year as an adviser. NRC has helped me as an international student to meet loads of new people and establish a community that I now consider as my second home. I’m looking forward to an amazing year ahead with everyone, definitely with lots and lots of wholesome hugs!!!
Hi everyone! My name is Amy and I am a fourth year Science/Arts student. I am the crazy cat lady, so yes, I LOVE cats... I think being organised is one of the best (and easiest) ways to get through uni! Making an assignment schedule BEFORE your classes start to see when things are due is very easy in excel!
Hey everyone! Welcome to 2019 and this is my second year being NRC adviser! It's the right choice to join this big family and you can make a lot of friends and create precious memories together! I'm a 3rd year student studying Nutrition Science and I love singing and watching movies. Feel free to say hi to me when you're around campus
Hey! I'm Ben, currently studying biomed and am in my second year. I like video games (definitely Smash Bros. right now), sports (dodgeball and tennis mainly), and anime stuff (I swear I'm not a weeb :D) Something you should know about me is that once I start sneezing I don't stop for a while, so that's fun. I really enjoyed my experience last year as a member so I can't wait to give back the same experience to others. Hope to see you around!
Heyo, I'm a second year Software "Engineering" student, emphasis on the air quotes. When I'm not taking a nap and/or sleeping, I enjoy going to sleep, cooking, sewing, dance, singing, video games, role-playing and accidentally being the loudest person in the room. But mostly sleep. If you hear a deep pseudo-American voice around, I might be up to 500 meters away. If you're new, keep up your studies, eat your veggies, try not to sleep at 5 in the morning and enjoy whatever free time ya got. If I'm not in a state of unconsciousness feel free to discuss about anything ya want, I can answer at least 70% of the questions that I know the answer for, guaranteed. Hope to see you all soon.
Hi, I’m Chris, I am in my fourth year of Electrical Engineering and Finance. I love sport, especially dodgeball and so I’ve been a part of the university dodgeball team for years. If I'm not studying or playing sport, I also enjoy video games and hanging out with friends. I’ve been an adviser for a few years now and I’m excited to be back and to meet everyone.
Hi, I'm Danny. I am currently studying a commerce/commerce specialist double degree, majoring in economics, finance and actuarial science. In my spare time I enjoy watching anime, playing video games and playing mahjong. My advice to new students would be that you should make new friends at uni, whether that be through classes, NRC or university clubs, and make the most of what university life has to offer. Don't be afraid to try new things!
Hey guys, Ian here, your average 4th year software engineer. Adventurous as they come, I always like trying new things because the thrill of excitement is invaluable and the conversations across the board are unforgettable. My conquests so far include being a professional LoL player, mountain hiking, amateur cheerleading, regional debating, captaining my college football team and so on. I'm somewhat athletic so I play any sport socially and a few more seriously. At heart, I still like lazing about listening to chill music and playing video games. Don't let my beard scare you, I'm a gentle giant. Please come talk to me, promise I won't bite unless you're a mint chocolate chip cookie.
Hi everyone! I'm Jade and I am going into my third year of Biomedical Science. Fun facts: I love Asian food, I have two middle names and I have a weird, but not sustainable, habit of staying under the hairdryer for too long. My advice to new students would be to take advantage of all the opportunities Monash throws at you because university does not have to be all about study. I cannot wait to meet you all!
Hey there!!! My name is Jon! I am currently an undergrad student in my second year, studying Bachelor of Commerce and Actuarial Science and I am planning to major in Business Analytics and Finance. I have been a member since I first started uni, and have been an adviser since mid 2018. NRC is very special to me, it's like a home away from home, I made lots of friends here and had a blast with everyone here. I love to play table tennis and badminton, the drums, and of course, listening to music and video games. I am also open to trying out new things so come and find me if you need a person for anything!
Hey guys, I'm Mai. Currently in my second year of studying biomedical science so you will probably hear me complaining about contact hours and electives. My hobbies include dancing, reading and philosophy, so I'm always up for some random chats. I liked being able to meet people and make friends out of my course last year so I’m looking forward to meeting even more people this year as an adviser.
Hi! I'm Megan, I'm a fourth year Mechatronic Engineering and Science Student. After being part of the colleges for the past 2 years, I now realise that uni can be more than just studying and can't wait to give others a similar experience as an adviser. Besides cooking, I also love the outdoors, camping and travelling. I can't wait to come back to NRC and meet everyone.
I am in my fourth year of Eng/Commerce degree and I've been part of NRC for around 2 years. I love cars, technology and gaming, so I'm keen to get into some discussions with others who share any interests! I started Game of Thrones very recently after much reluctance and have finally caught up - one of my greatest achievements in 2018 LOL. Lastly, I currently work at Samsung and Woolies. I am keen to get to know you all and I hope you enjoy your time as members of the NRC!
Hi! My name is Pranav and I'm a third year student studying a double degree in Engineering and Science. I love playing sports such as Table Tennis and Badminton. I'm a tech savvy guy who loves his food and music even more. I'm looking forward to being an adviser after a great time being a member and aspire to deliver a similarly great experience to others.
Howdy fellow bears! I am Raj, and I am currently in my final year of my post-grad in Renewable and sustainable energy engineering. I am a huge football fan (and, I mean the real football not footy! sorry-not-sorry). I also play for the NRC futsal team in the social competition and we won it last semester, Yay!!! (Just wanted to brag about it). On top of that, I enjoy playing table tennis, badminton, pretty much any sports actually, beating my friends on FIFA and eating lot and lot of Daniel’s Donuts. And yeah, if you see me around campus, come and have a chat (even if I look very busy and all, don’t hesitate because 99% of the time I am just on Facebook looking at memes)
I go by many names but I'm known as Sharlin among the Non Residential College advisers and members. I'm currently in my final year here in Monash University. I'll be in NRC for the 4th year in 2019 and 3rd as an adviser. I'm an adrenaline junkie. I've got a thing for adventure and this explains why I can't sit still. I was involved in many great events - I'm certain you’ll enjoy them as much as I did. Feel free to get in touch with me whenever, wherever.
Hello everyone, my name is Sue and I'm currently in my second year of Medicine. Some things I enjoy doing in my free time are going out to brunch, watching movies and playing badminton. Coming into university and moving countries was a daunting experience for me, but it was easier than I thought to find support networks, as I'm sure will be the case for everyone else - just be brave! I love getting to know new people, so feel free to come up to me and say hi, I'm always up for a chat :)
Hello! I'm a 4th year doing a double major of Literature and Japanese. I love reading (how did you guess?), video games, cats, knitting, and the spiciest food (Hello, Carolina Reaper!) a white gurl like me can handle.
Hey everyone :) I'm a fourth year Science/Arts student. I've just come back from a year abroad studying so I am ready to get back into being an adviser again. I love to travel, meet new people and will always be up for a chat so feel free to come say hi :D You will be able to find me playing netball, snooping out the free food at events or hanging on campus having a chat, probably near science lounge :P
