Monash-sourced internships

Step 1: Find an internship unit

Take a look at our industry experience units to find one that fits your course.

Each unit is different, so make sure you’re familiar with the unit structure and eligibility requirements before you apply (you’ll also need to ensure you have enough credit points left in your course for the unit).

Student visa holders may be subject to a 48 hours per fortnight work limit. Before you apply, check the rules for working on a student visa (as well as any exceptions).

Step 2: Prepare your resume and application

We’ll share your resume with our industry partners, so it’s a good idea to make sure it’s up to date and showcases your skills, qualities and accomplishments. For tips to make your resume stand out, see our how to write a resume module.

During the application, you’ll also be asked some questions about what you’d like to get out of the internship experience. We’ll use your answers to match you with a host organisation (and they may be shared with your host) – so it’s worth preparing your responses ahead of time.

Step 3: Submit your application

When applications are open for your teaching period, log into the InPlace portal and submit an application for your unit. Make sure you select your unit and upload your resume in the Available tab, and complete all the faculty-specific fields in the My details tab.

We’ll email you about the outcome of your application as soon as possible, so keep an eye on your inbox (we’ll also send you an email if we need to request any extra documents or information).
