Summer and winter semesters give you the opportunity to complete units outside the standard semesters. The teaching period is usually much shorter and more intense than in a standard semester, but the overall class hours remain the same.

Monash students enrolled in exchange or study abroad units will also have non-standard dates. These dates are based on the teaching and assessment dates specific to your host institution.

For example, if you're enrolled in exchange or study abroad units for semester one at Monash, the census date for your units will be set at 25% of the way between the start of teaching and the final assessment date for that unit at your host institution, not the standard Monash semester one census date.

If you need to make changes to your exchange or study abroad enrolment at Monash, you may be required to provide evidence of the teaching and final assessment dates at your host institution to ensure that any academic or financial penalties are applied correctly.
