Our case studies contribute to improving the knowledge of pre-service teachers in youth cyber safety

Monash Education has enjoyed a rewarding one-year partnership with The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, whose mission is to keep children safe from violence. AMF has a range of programs to help prevent bullying, cyber bullying and other cyber risks, one of which is the eSmart Digital Licence, an online challenge using quizzes, videos and games to teach children how to interact online in a smart and safe way. We have been collaborating on the development and delivery of this program to improve the knowledge of pre-service teachers in the areas of youth cyber safety.

This partnership involves the provision by AMF of digital licences, training and technical support for their product while we provide case studies that inform digital literacy pedagogies and pre-service teacher digital literacy understandings. We are delighted to be able to work on this important component of children’s education and wellbeing.
