Seeing every brain as a gift: Neuro-affirming practice in education
Classrooms have always been diverse places. But for much of the history of formal schooling, that diversity has been treated as something to be corrected or compensated for, rather than recognised and valued. For neurodivergent children and young people, in particular, this approach has had real consequences: higher rates of school disengagement, anxiety, exclusion, and long-lasting damage to self-concept.
