Supporting Australian Families to Navigate Sleeping and Feeding Practices
Research aims and significant problem
This research aims to investigate the facilitators and challenges perceived by parents regarding sleeping and feeding practices in early childhood (children aged birth to 8 years). The study will examine common challenges faced by parents in this age group and provide insights into the types of support currently used, needed, and considered helpful. The findings are expected to inform the development of more effective and appropriate support systems for parents navigating sleep and feeding difficulties in young children.
The aims of this research are to:
- Identify the common challenges and facilitators in everyday sleeping and feeding practices as perceived by parents and caregivers.
- Explore how cultural influences shape parents’ approaches to sleep and feeding practices with their children.
- Examine the specific resources and support available in Australia for parents and caregivers addressing perceived sleep and feeding issues in their children.
