MAP is an enabling program for mature-age students who have not undertaken previous university study. MAP helps you develop the skills you need to successfully participate in your studies, and gives you the option to progress to a range of Monash courses, including the Bachelor of Education (Honours). We give priority to students who have experienced financial hardship or other disadvantage.
On successful completion you will be eligible for direct admission into the Bachelor of Education (Honours). You also have the option to progress into a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration or a Bachelor of Information Technology.

The Monash Indigenous Entry Scheme provides Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students direct admission into a range of undergraduate degrees at a significantly lower ATAR. All specialisations in the Bachelor of Education (Honours) are included (70 ATAR). There are no special classes, extra requirements or time added to the course for students admitted under the Indigenous Entry Scheme and students will graduate with the same Monash degree as any other student.
Monash Indigenous Access Program (MIAP)
The Monash Indigenous Access Program (MIAP) is a 6 – 12 month scholarship-funded bridging program designed to prepare students for entry into a variety of undergraduate degrees at Monash University. This bridging course is taught across Monash College and Monash University and caters for students that:
- haven't completed Year 12
- graduated on a non-ATAR pathway
- received an ATAR under 50
- are mature aged with no previous study experience.
The Indigenous Non-Award Pathway (INAP) is a part-time version of the MIAP.

Single university-level units
Successful completion of two or more single university-level units might help you meet the prerequisites you missed out on.
A unit is a semester-long subject. Units with language or mathematics bias and/or relevance to education may assist in the selection process into the Bachelor of Education (Honours).

Non-teaching degree followed by Master of Teaching
If your ATAR score does not meet the requirements for direct entry into the Bachelor of Education (Honours), including double degrees, you can consider enrolling in another course - e.g. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, followed by our Master of Teaching to qualify as a teacher.
