School leadership amid the pandemic

Independent Schools Victoria (ISV) has partnered with Monash University, Faculty of Education in research to explore the experiences of principals of Independent schools in Victoria who have led and are leading their schools through the Covid-19 pandemic.

The aim of this research is to:

  1. investigate the experience of the principals with the second lockdown,
  2. improve and identify key elements of agile leadership of the principals,
  3. identify the support and resources that would be needed,
  4. explore how this experience might change the educational agenda post-pandemic.

Monash Education will support ISV in obtaining research ethics clearance; consulting on the research design, research methodology, data collection and data analysis processes, and disseminating research findings via mutually-agreed research and professional publications.

The results of this study are presented in the Agile Leadership Report.
