Resources for educators
Resources for educators
During this project we will generate research-informed principles of practice for problem-based learning in STEM subjects. We will present these principles of practice as downloadable resources for educators to use in their own classrooms, and make them available on this page as they become available.
Our second public STEMinar for #theSTEMproblem
In celebration of National Science Week 2023, expert teachers shared insights about working with the principles of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in their STEM teaching. During the STEMinar, some of our MACS and BCE teacher co-researchers shared their experiences of what this approach meant for their practice, and how they responded to the emerging opportunities and challenges.
Our first public STEMinar for #theSTEMproblem
In celebration of National Science Week 2022, our esteemed panel of scholars and teachers challenged us to identify some critical questions that will enable us to think about how we can put key principles in problem-based learning, including:
- flexible knowledge, skills and capabilities,
- active and strategic metacognitive reasoning,
- collaboration based on intrinsic motivation, and
- real and rich contexts.
