Emerging Technologies in Education - School Leadership Training
The Emerging Technologies in Education course is an innovative online program developed and delivered by the Hub for Educational Design and Innovation (HEDI), in partnership with the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership. HEDI, with its core focus on educational design and innovation, has assembled a team of internationally recognized scholars and educators to lead this highly interactive course. This program is specifically tailored for school principals and system leaders, aiming to strengthen their role as instructional leaders and empower teachers to become effective practitioners of digital learning design and technology integration.
The course is designed to equip educational leaders with the knowledge and tools necessary to guide their teachers in using emerging technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Participants will explore how to foster innovative pedagogical approaches through the strategic implementation of digital tools. The program emphasises the leader’s role in supporting teachers to design, facilitate, and assess digital learning experiences in both synchronous and asynchronous environments.
Structured over five weeks, the course offers a rich blend of learning experiences, including interactive workshops, self-paced exploration of videos and readings, and practical applications supported by discussion forums with peers. These interactive components provide participants with opportunities to collaborate, apply their learning to real-world contexts, and reflect on their own instructional leadership practices. This course represents a cutting-edge professional development opportunity for educational leaders seeking to advance their digital learning leadership capabilities in an increasingly technology-driven world.
