Assessing teacher judgements on NCCD school students with disability

Improving the quality and consistency of NCCD by gathering evidence of how teachers apply judgement.

The Australian Department of Education appointed Monash University to lead an Australia-wide research project to assess the validity and reliability of teachers' judgements — identifying structural and systemic variations across jurisdictions, sectors and geographic locations, the extent of variation and the factors that influence their decision-making process. The key objective of the project was to improve the quality and consistency of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) by gathering evidence of how teachers from different jurisdictions, sectors, levels of schooling and geographic locations apply their judgement.
