Since its inaugural intake of 40 in 2016, over 300 aspirant principals have completed the program.
The program was developed by our researchers in partnership with the Bastow Institute and has since become the Victorian Principal Qualification (VPQ) Graduate Certificate. Funded by the Victorian Government, the program combines the best of leadership research with the expertise of current successful school principals and applied approaches to professional learning.
The primary aim is to equip future principals with the confidence, skills and professional knowledge necessary to step up into these critical leadership roles.
Project impact: This flagship principal leadership program will be delivered to 640 candidate principals over the next 4 years and will transform school leadership in the State of Victoria. The impact of this will ripple across educational experiences and influence learning and teaching for all our students.
