CYPEP partnered with Raise to launch the 2024 Australian Youth Barometer via a webinar on youth mental health

Our CYPEP Director, Lucas Walsh, joined a panel discussion in an online seminar entitled “Navigating our youth mental health crisis - Finding connection and belonging", hosted by Raise.

Chaired by Raise's patron and education expert David Gonski, the panel also featured other youth and education experts, including Rachel Christie (GM) from Mission Australia, Doug Taylor (CEO of The Smith Family), and Lucy Snowball (Data and Young Insights Director of Raise). This seminar served as the platform for the launch of our 2024 Australian Youth Barometer, in partnership with Raise.

During the event, Raise's Founder and CEO, Vicki Condon AM, shared key findings from Raise's independent evaluation of a successful mentoring program. This evaluation, conducted by the University of Melbourne and the Social Outcomes Lab and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, revealed promising results that suggest there may be some light at the end of the tunnel for young Australians. These insights were presented in the context of our newly launched 2024 Australian Youth Barometer, which provides a comprehensive examination of the interconnected dimensions of young people's lives in Australia.

The Barometer has already generated significant media interest, with over 302 media clips to date. Notably, broadcast media has been particularly impactful, with 209 radio clips amplifying the report's findings and recommendations.
