CYPEP research fellow, Dr Thuc Bao Huynh, was interviewed by Triple J Hack on what it means to be young

In an interview with Triple J Hack, CYPEP Research Fellow Dr. Thuc Bao Huynh discussed the findings of a deep-dive analysis of the 2022 Australian Youth Barometer data, which was analysed by members of CYPEP's Youth Reference Group.

The analysis provided deeper insights into what it means to be young in Australia today, and why young people feel they are ‘missing out’ on their youth. Dr. Huynh highlighted the significant impact of cost-of-living pressures and the challenges of balancing work and study, which have left 45% of young Australians (aged 18-24) feeling this way. The interview explored various factors contributing to this sentiment, and offered potential solutions to better support young people and empower them to thrive.
