We've collected feedback from 73 schools to better understand how schools engage with research

Monash Education and Catholic Education Melbourne (CEM) are currently partnered in a project that is designed to help explore how schools engage with research.  The Understanding School Engagement in Research (USER) consists of surveys, focus groups and school visits in order to spark wider debate around evidence and schools’ relation to it.

The project has involved feedback from 73 schools (about a quarter of the overall number of Catholic schools), which will be reported along with recommendations.

As well as exploring how the findings related to the broader aspect of schools’ research engagement, the partnership intends to develop an academic journal article and conference presentation to be used in wider debates around implications of USER and how evidence and research is – and can be – used in and by schools.
