2023 STEMinar: Using PBL in STEM - Insights from the classroom

2023 STEMinar: Using PBL in STEM - Insights from the classroom

In celebration of National Science Week 2023, join us to hear expert teachers share insights about working with the principles of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in their STEM teaching. Learn more about what this approach meant for their practice, and how they responded to the emerging opportunities and challenges.

About the STEMinar

#theSTEMproblem is a three-year Australian Research Council-funded project, where researchers from Monash University and the University of Queensland are working with expert teachers from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) and Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE).

The project actively positioned teachers as key decision makers about how PBL can be used in school-based STEM education. As co-researchers, teachers have drawn from knowledge of their teaching context and critically examined their practice to translate the principles of PBL into their STEM teaching.

This seminar will showcase teacher stories; illustrations of practice. This information is integral to the part of the project's emerging pedagogical framework designed to support PBL in school-based STEM education. This information will become widely available on the project website.
