Special and specialist schools placement program

This Victorian State Government sponsored Placements Plus program offers placement experiences in special and specialist schools located in metropolitan areas across Victoria. Participating schools are located in towns such as Frankston, Aspendale, Bulleen and Sunbury.

Pre-service teachers in the following years/courses will be selected to undertake their placement in participating schools:

• Masters of Teaching (Primary and Secondary) 1st year students
• Bachelor of Education Hons (Primary and Secondary) 2nd year students

Pre-service teachers are selected to undertake their placement in a special/specialist school on the basis of their proximity to schools. Should there be a need, pre-service teachers can discuss their selection with the Professional Experiences team.

Communication regarding the benefits of participating in this program and information about key dates, program selection and financial support will be emailed to eligible students in advance of each placement program each semester.

Pre-service teachers undertaking their placement in a participating metropolitan special/specialist school are eligible for a Victorian Government Pre-Service Teacher Placement Grant (PPG) of $140 per day.
