Improving early childhood education outcomes for underprivileged families in remote and rural areas.
The Faculty has been working with Plan International in a variety of countries including Vietnam, China and Nepal on a range of research projects and studies to improve early childhood education outcomes for underprivileged families in remote and rural areas.
Our researchers are currently working with Plan International Australia and Plan International Nepal to conduct a quasi-experimental research on Plan Nepal’s Home Based Parenting Education Program (HBPEP).
Plan International Nepal aims for the HBPEP program to promote the well-being of children and strengthen the skills of parents, caregivers, families and communities for better children learning and development.
The research is based in three districts in Nepal, with a view to assess the program’s effectiveness in bringing changes in children developmental outcomes and parents’ knowledge, attitudes and practice. The collaboration with Plan International Nepal also includes the development of collaborative forums to give parent’s feedback on parenting practices and to voice parenting changes and experiences.
