Our research project investigates the contribution of informal sports participation to the wellbeing of diverse young people and considers how governments, sport and health agencies can support this participation.

Informal Sport as a health and social resource

This video explores the broader impact of participation in several types of informal sport. The participants tell their stories about how being included in these groups enriches their lives in so many ways. The stories expressed in the video reflect the findings of the ARC Linkage Project led by Professor Ruth Jeanes with Associate Professor Justen O' Connor, Professor Ramon Spaaij and Professor Dawn Penney.
