Psychology clinical placements

If you undertake a psychology Master's program you are required to complete supervised professional experience activities and/or supervised clinical placements.

These placements allow you to apply the knowledge you gain throughout the course to real life situations. You will develop valuable professional experience and the opportunity to establish contacts in the field of psychology. During these placements you will undertake activities such as:

  • observations, assessment and treatment of clients from the placement setting
  • other activities relevant to the supervised practice of general, counselling or educational and developmental psychology.

If you complete a Master of Psychology (Educational & Developmental) program you are required to undertake 1,000 hours of placements. If you complete the Master of Professional Psychology you will complete 300 hours of placement activities.

Our Monash Krongold Clinic provides professional placements to masters-level psychology students.
