HEDI Director, Professor Michael Henderson delivered a keynote at EduTECH - one of Australia’s largest Educational Technology conventions with over 10,000 attendees. Michael’s keynote was on the topic of “Education’s responsibility: Managing AI ethically”

HEDI continues to shape national and international conversations around the use of AI in education. The keynote was standing room only with over 300 registered participants and was delivered in conversation with Andrew Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Education Services Australia. Together Michael and Andrew explored the issues surrounding ethical management of AI, recognising that it has become a critical responsibility for educators, institutions and EdTech companies. During the keynote conversation Michael and Andrew debated the principles of ethical AI usage, strategies for ensuring fairness and transparency, and the concerns around safeguarding student data and privacy.
