Effective implementation of evidence-based practices in educational, health, and community and disability settings is a complex undertaking. Without effective implementation the potential benefits of practices, models, and interventions and the outcomes are not experienced by those who need them the most. In many cases, practitioners with a track record of success are elevated into positions to engage in implementation coaching or implementation leadership without the necessary support and preparation in the specific stages, activities, and tasks of leading implementation with other colleagues.

The growing field of implementation science has identified and emphasised that these stages, activities, and tasks are specific to implementation itself and staff need to be supported to develop these specific implementation competencies.

This course will develop your knowledge and skill in evidence-based implementation to support you to effectively engage in the work of implementing evidence-based practices within your context.

Prerequisites

A bachelor’s degree in nursing, health sciences, education, disability studies, arts, psychology, or social sciences.

Applicants should have at least three years’ experience working in education, health care, and/or community and disability support settings.

This course references the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST): 6 and 7.
