HEDI Directors help build an EdTech Community of Action
HEDI Directors Michael Henderson and Jo Blannin presented at the EdTech Innovation Network (EIN) Community of Action inaugural event.
This event was designed to connect EdTech entrepreneurs, leaders in education, and education researchers looking to advance a shared understanding of the role of technology in the transformation of the higher education sector.
Professor Henderson and Mr David Linke (Director, EduGrowth) set the scene - explaining the value of partnership between EdTech providers and education researchers. In this session, Professor Henderson introduced the PIAF Model (Product, Implementation, Acceptability, Feasibility), an evaluation framework developed by Professors Michael Henderson (Monash University) and Margaret Bearman & Phillip Dawson (Deakin University) as part of the EduGrowth EdTech Innovation Alliance in 2022. The PIAF Model provides a structured approach to assessing the efficacy of EdTech tools in educational settings, and its potential adoption in Australia and India was a key focus of the discussion.

Dr Jo Blannin presented a case study of EdTech and researcher partnership. This was a valuable provocation to the attendees to consider how they can work together to improve the efficacy of their EdTech integrations.

The EdTech Innovation Network (EIN) will create a community committed to the role of digital technology in education. By fostering cross-sector partnerships and leveraging the expertise of its members, the network will support the development of innovative EdTech solutions grounded in evidence and with demonstrable impact on learners.
