Louise Brown

Louise Brown is a Professor of Pharmacy Education and Head of Teaching for the Research Department of Practice and Policy at University College London (UCL) School of Pharmacy. She is also Clinical Pharmacy Teaching Lead for the Masters in Pharmacy (MPharm) degree programme and Lead for Experiential Placements on the MPharm.

She is a community pharmacist by background, who has led the education, training and development of pharmacy practice academics, undergraduates, foundation trainee (preceptor) pharmacists, pharmacists and technicians for over the last 25 years.

She has a wide scope and range of experience in education and training in a broad range of environments. Louise has developed and deployed innovation in curriculum design, delivery and evaluation of teaching and learning interventions within community pharmacy, primary care and higher education settings.

In her post she leads and coordinates the design, delivery and assessment of the core pharmacy practice modules on the UCL School of Pharmacy MPharm degree course. At a strategic level Louise’s central role is to ensure that UCL delivers pharmacy undergraduate and post- graduate courses that are of quality and relevant to current and future practice. Also, that they produce professionals who will go on to deliver compassionate, clinical pharmacy to their patients. Louise has the pleasure of leading a large team of pharmacy practice teaching focused academics as well as pharmacy teacher practitioners from a wide range of sectors of practice.

Louise has had the pleasure of working with pharmacy academics from several countries engaging in pharmacy education research and scholarship, disseminated by presentations at many international conferences.
