Pathways into pharmacy or pharmaceutical science courses

Science-based tertiary studies are the best alternative pathway into the faculty’s pharmacy and pharmaceutical science programs.

Transfers

A course transfer means changing your current course of study before graduation. This can be within Monash (internal transfer) or from another institution to Monash (external transfer).

Once you've met our prerequisites at tertiary level (note: they can also be met through a combination of high school and tertiary study), you can apply to transfer into our undergraduate courses. The minimum time you must have spent studying your primary course is one year, and the faculty only has one intake in February.

It is highly recommended that you transfer from a science-based degree, or that you have completed a lot of science-based units during your tertiary studies. When assessing for transfer, we don't give preference to Monash applicants, all applicants must meet the same minimum criteria.

Please note that credit is not currently given for transfers into pharmacy. Our Graduate Entry Pharmacy program offers another pathway to pharmacy that you may like to consider, however some students do choose to transfer after one or two years of study. There is no better pathway, it simply depends on your goals and circumstances.
