HRM Platform Event 2026

Her Research Matters (HRM) launched Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) Platforms as a new pillar. Researchers, platform specialists and industry collaborators came together at the HRM Platform and Commercial Research Showcase 2026, to explore the breadth of expertise and research infrastructure driving innovation across MIPS.

Representatives from diverse research platforms and commercial research groups at MIPS, highlighted their capabilities across the drug discovery and translational research pipeline ranging from target identification and medicinal chemistry to advanced imaging, drug candidate optimisation, medicines manufacturing and mRNA technologies.

Attendees gained insights into emerging technologies, national research capabilities and commercial services across MIPS including Molecular and Translational Drug Discovery (MTDD), Microscopy, the Monash Fragment Platform (MFP), Australian Translational Medicinal Chemistry Facility (ATMCF), Centre for Drug Candidate Optimisation (CDCO), Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC), Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication (MCN), mRNA Core and the Drug Target Identification Platform (DTIP).

The showcase concluded with the keynote presentation, 'From Invisible to Indispensable: Elevating Research Infrastructure Specialists at Monash', delivered by Professor Michelle McIntosh. The presentation highlighted the vital contributions of Research Infrastructure Specialists (RIS) and the University's ongoing commitment to strengthening their recognition, career development and long-term sustainability.
