Undergraduate Pharmacy for International Students

The work of pharmacists changes people's lives for the better and has done for centuries.

But there is still so much more to do. An ageing global population, increasingly complex and personalised medicines, as well as a move towards team-based 'integrated' healthcare mean that the challenges and opportunities facing pharmacists are greater than ever before.

That's why we need medicines superheroes.

Our pharmacy course degree will equip you with the power to tackle these challenges head on and build healthier, happier communities.

Should I enrol in the BPharm(Hons) or BPharm(Hons)/MPharm?

If you are an international student who anticipates practicing pharmacy outside of Australia, you may find that the master's component of our program is surplus to your home country's registration requirements. In that case, you may wish to enrol in the BPharm(Hons).

If you are an international student who wants to become a registered pharmacist in Australia, we recommend that you apply to our BPharm(Hons)/MPharm. The program takes the same amount of time as what it would typically take to register as a pharmacist in Australia, but instead you'll graduate with a master as well as a bachelor.

The new BPharm(Hons)/MPharm degree

The skills and knowledge you'll need for the new and demanding world of health and medicine can no longer fit inside a bachelor-sized container. This is the reality that has brought about the Monash Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)/Master of Pharmacy.

Same duration, higher qualification

Every pharmacy degree in Australia offers a five-year pathway to registration as a pharmacist. Our pathway takes the same amount of time start to finish, but instead of graduating with one degree, you’ll graduate with two: a master as well as a bachelor (with honours). In other words, you’ll have an advantage over every other pharmacy graduate in the country.

And the fifth year of the course entails an internship, so not only do you get valuable work experience, you also get paid for it.

Scholarships and funding

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences offers eligible international students a $5000 study grant to assist with your relocation to Australia.

There are also a number faculty and university international student scholarships available.
