Dr Jennifer Marty PhD Travel scholarship

The Dr Jennifer Marty PhD Travel Scholarship is intended to provide vital funding for students to attend an international conference of significance to their research as they seek to create new knowledge in the important field of drug discovery and development.

There will be one Dr Jennifer Marty PhD Travel Scholarship awarded in 2026. The Scholarship will provide a once-off travel scholarship of $6,000.

Selection Criteria:
The successful applicant will be selected based on academic merit and financial need. This will be assessed on the basis of the following:

  • A PhD candidate at Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS);
  • Letter of endorsement by the candidate’s Academic supervisor;
  • Be attending a high-level international conference and/or visiting a leading academic or industry lab (i.e. to visit Pfizer). If attending a conference, the candidate must have a poster presentation/abstract accepted at the conference. If conference participation cannot be confirmed at the time of submission please advise when this information is expected to be available.

In determining the Scholarship, the selection committee will also consider:

  • The benefit of the proposed travel and impact on the student’s progress
  • The candidates financial need, and whether any alternative funding sources are available.

The scholarship is made with preference for:

  • Candidates with the acumen, problem solving skills and ability to develop a project in the field of drug discovery and development.
  • Students who have not previously travelled as part of their PhD program;
  • International travel.
