Our research students work with Australia's largest, most experienced group of pharmaceutical scientists in the best pharmaceutical research facilities in the country. They collaborate across Monash with some of the world's best medical researchers, and with industry-leading partners, in areas like nanotechnology, pharmacy and pharmaceutical science. The Australian Research Council rates us 5/5 (well above world standard).

To apply for the Honours research degree, you need to:
Step 1: Check your eligibility requirements
The minimum entry requirements to study Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (Honours) are:
A bachelor's degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical science, medicinal chemistry, formulation science, or other related field. An average overall distinction grade (70%+) or higher in the final year of the course, or equivalent qualification and experience deemed by the faculty's Honours course committee to be substantial preparation for a candidate's proposed field of study is required.
International students must also meet the Monash English language requirements.
For acceptance as an Honours candidate, the applicant must:
- have a suitable academic background;
- be accepted as a potential candidate by a supervisor; and
- have a suitable research project as a basis for the degree studies.
Step 2: Find your perfect project and supervisor.
Step 3: Complete and submit the application form via the MyApps portal and then submit the project application form. Applications close on Friday, 4th December 2026 for entry into the 2027 year.
Note: Third Year students enrolled in the Advanced Honours program, are required to secure a project and supervisor, reenrol in course P3002 (4th year units) and complete the project application form. There is no requirement to complete an application via MyApps.

Applications for the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (Honours) for entry into 2026, will open from September and close on 5th December 2025.
