Intern Training Program and Intern Foundation Program
The Monash Intern Experience
Monash offers a unique pharmacy intern experience to give you the edge in your career. The Monash Intern Experience allows you to complete one of the requirements to become an Australian registered pharmacist and graduate with additional skills to enhance your employability.
Alongside your paid internship, you’ll complete an Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) accredited Intern Training Program (ITP), one of the requirements to register as a pharmacist in Australia.
In the same year, you’ll also undertake our extension program, the Intern Foundation Program (IFP), designed to advance your practice and prepare you for the expanding scope and opportunities in the pharmacy profession.
Upon successful completion of both the Monash Intern programs, you’ll graduate with a Graduate Certificate of Pharmacy Practice from Monash University.
Why undertake the Monash Intern Experience?
Our Monash Intern programs not only help you make the most of your internship, but also to get an edge in your pharmacy career journey. As the scope of pharmacy practice continues to broaden, the Monash Intern Experience is designed to give you a head start and ensure you are ready for the continual evolution of the profession.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore your leadership potential, develop skills in project management, and upskill in emerging areas of the profession that help you diversify your pharmacy portfolio and set you up to gain future credentials.

Applications must be lodged online via the Monash application portal.
- Select Australia as location of study;
- Select A full degree at Monash University for several years as the type of study;
- Select P4001 Graduate Certificate of Pharmacy Practice as your study preference.
- Upload to the portal:
- a scanned copy of your proof of identity/residency (eg passport, visa, birth certificate); and

Once final results for your Australian approved program of study have been released and your course completion status has been published by your university, log in to the applicant portal and upload a copy of your official final academic transcript (this must include confirmation of course completion) or share your transcript with pharmacy.postgrad@monash.edu via the My eQuals portal.
