The Monash Aged Care On-site Pharmacist Training Program (MUATP)
The new Monash University Aged Care On-site Pharmacist (ACOP) Training Program (MUATP)* is designed to credential pharmacists to perform the Aged Care On-site Pharmacist (ACOP) roles. Since 1 July 2024, funding has been available for community pharmacies and aged care providers to employ on-site pharmacists in residential aged care homes; more information is available here.
Prerequisite Requirement: This program is eligible for generally registered pharmacists with Ahpra (no conditions) that have completed an APC-accredited Medication Management Review (MMR) program. This could include our Monash University MMR Training Program.

Course structure
The MUATP is sequenced across three steps.

| Engage in our interactive, online, self-directed learning modules to support the development of your knowledge in relation to aged care, clinical governance and the ACOP role. | Practice your skills in core ACOP processes such as clinical reviews, medication reconciliation, management of transition of care encounters, conducting quality improvement audits and the development of medication-related Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) policies. | Demonstrate your competency in core ACOP processes by completing workplace-based assessments supervised by an approved ACOP supervisor. |

Costs
The program costs $1600 AUD for general registered pharmacists to complete the full course and assessment.
