MOSAIC Pathways to Impact Medicinal Chemistry PhD Scholarship
The MOSAIC Pathways to Impact Medicinal Chemistry PhD Scholarship was established by a faculty alumnus, in honour of a mentor who recognised their potential and whose belief in them has never been forgotten. An experience during their studies sparked a lasting appreciation for the role medicinal chemistry can play in advancing therapeutic discovery and improving lives.
Inspired by both mentorship and a deep respect for the field, this scholarship is a way of paying forward encouragement and supporting others at similarly pivotal moments.
Aligned with the Faculty’s MOSAIC initiative (Multicultural Outreach and Support for Advancement, Inclusion and Community), the scholarship supports emerging researchers from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. It nurtures future leaders who are driven to advance medicinal chemistry, through policy or practice ensuring that talent, curiosity, and determination are supported to translate into meaningful impact for communities.
The MOSAIC Initiative is immensely grateful for the Donor’s generosity enabling this new scholarship opportunity within the Medicinal Chemistry Theme. They noted, “True innovation in drug discovery thrives when we cultivate diverse perspectives, and this initiative marks a wonderful step forward in fostering an inclusive and equitable research environment where all of our PhD candidates can excel.”
The Scholarship will provide the recipient with a top-up scholarship of $8,000pa until 3.5 years of candidature, or when enrolment ends. The Scholarship top-up will be paid for periods of paid leave.
