Scholarships

If you're interested in studying a full-time masters or PhD research degree with us, you can apply for one of our graduate research scholarships, which include non-taxable stipends and a living allowance.

Over 300 such scholarships, and 70 international tuition-paying scholarships, are offered at the selection rounds each year.

Cyril Tonkin Scholarship

This scholarship is for an outstanding pharmacy graduate of the faculty who undertakes a higher degree by research in pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences. The scholarship honours the selfless service of Victorian College of Pharmacy graduate Dr Cyril Tonkin, who graduated as a gold medallist in 1910 before becoming a medical practitioner in 1921. Cybec Scholarship

The Cybec Foundation generously provides scholarships to PhD students in the Faculty. The Foundation was established by Roger Riordan and his wife, to provide social wellbeing initiatives and support emerging talent with the opportunity and the means to make a positive difference. Through the Foundation the Cybec Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced hardship or disadvantage on their journey to undertake postgraduate research studies in the Faculty. Dr Jennifer Marty PhD Travel Scholarship

The Dr Jennifer Marty PhD Travel Scholarship is intended to provide vital funding for students to attend an international conference of significance to their research as they seek to create new knowledge in the important field of drug discovery and development.

There will be one Dr Jennifer Marty PhD Travel Scholarship awarded in 2026. The Scholarship will provide a once-off travel scholarship of $6,000.  Find out more about the Dr Jennifer Marty PhD Travel Scholarship.

MOSAIC Pathways to Impact Medicinal Chemistry PhD Scholarship

The MOSAIC Pathways to Impact Medicinal Chemistry PhD Scholarship has been established by a Faculty alumnus, in honour of a mentor who recognised their potential and whose belief in them has never been forgotten. An experience during their studies sparked a lasting appreciation for the role medicinal chemistry can play in advancing therapeutic discovery and improving lives. Inspired by both mentorship and a deep respect for the field, this scholarship is a way of paying forward encouragement and supporting others at similarly pivotal moments.
