Transferring out

Students currently enrolled in a Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences course who are considering transferring to a different course (Monash University or external) should contact the other faculty or institution for information. You may also wish to contact Monash Connect to discuss your possible transfer and discontinuation from your current course.

Transferring in

Students currently enrolled in other Monash University bachelor degree courses who are considering transferring to a Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences course should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the final year of your current course. A minimum level of achievement is required in your current course (e.g. credit or distinction average) and pre-requisites must be met. Please see current course transfer information online.

Campus Transfer

Students currently enrolled at the School of Pharmacy at the Monash University Malaysia campus who are considering transferring to the Parkville campus may apply to transfer and continue their studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Australia.

Current P3001 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) students may transfer campus into P6007 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy

You may only apply during your first or second year of P3001 at Monash Malaysia.
Students are required to have completed at least 24 credit points and must have a minimum WAM of 60 in order to be eligible to transfer.
The academic progress of each applicant will be reviewed.
Apply in semester 2 for transfer in semester 1 the following year.
Apply in semester 1 to transfer in semester 2 (Note: Transfer options may be unavailable or limited mid-year)

Current P2001 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science may transfer to the Parkville campus into either:

P2001 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science – requires a minimum WAM of 60. Or,
P3002 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science Advanced (Honours) – requires a minimum WAM of 70.

You may only apply during your first or second year of P2001 at Monash Malaysia
Students are required to have completed at least 24 credit points

Apply in semester 2 for transfer in semester 1 the following year.
Apply in semester 1 to transfer in semester 2 (Note: Transfer options may be unavailable or limited mid-year)

Transferring between our courses

Students who are considering transferring between Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences courses should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the final year of your current course. A minimum level of achievement is required in your current course (e.g. credit or distinction average). Please see current course transfer information online.

Please note that an application to transfer back to a course from which you have previously transferred cannot be approved.

Specific course transfer or alternative exit options information is as follows:

Current P6007 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy (5-year 240 credit point program) students can:
1. Exit early with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Master of Pharmacy award only.
  On completing the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) component and before commencing the Doctor of Pharmacy component, P6007 students may make an alternative exit request to complete their studies with the Master of Pharmacy. In year 5, students will enrol into the ITP (24 credit points) only. On completion of the ITP, you will be completed with the Master of Pharmacy award and discontinued from the Doctor of Pharmacy.
2. Exit early with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) award only.
  All P6007 students are granted this award after successfully completing fourth year units and before commencing the Doctor of Pharmacy component. During your fourth year, you may make an alternative exit request. Upon meeting the Bachelor award requirements, your Doctor of Pharmacy enrolment will be discontinued.
3. Exit early with a Bachelor of Pharmacotherapy award only.
  This exit will not lead to registration as a pharmacist and is not available to students who entered P6007 via the graduate entry pathway. During your third year, or at completion of third year, you may make an alternative exit request and discontinue your Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy enrolment.
4. Apply to transfer to P2001 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science
  You should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the fourth year of your current course. A credit average is required in your current course. Please see current course transfer information online.
5. Apply to transfer to P3002 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science Advanced Honours
You should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the fourth year of your current course. A distinction average is required in your current course. Please see current course transfer information online.

Current P6001 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Master of Pharmacy (5-year 216 credit point program) students can:
1. Apply to transfer to P6007 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy
  To achieve a Doctor of Pharmacy award, you should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the fourth year of your current course (During year 1, or year 2 or year 3). Current P6001 students enrolled at the Parkville campus require a WAM of 60 or higher in order to be eligible to transfer into P6007. Please see current course transfer information online.
2. Exit early with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) award only.
  All P6001 students are granted this award after successfully completing fourth year units and before commencing the Master of Pharmacy component. During your fourth year, or after confirming that the award has been granted, you may make an alternative exit request and discontinue your Master of Pharmacy enrolment.
3. Apply to transfer to P2001 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science
You should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the fourth year of your current course. A credit average is required in your current course. Please see current course transfer information online.
Current P3001 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) (4-year 192 credit point program) students can:
1. Apply to transfer to P6007 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy
  To continue studying Pharmacy at a postgraduate level and achieve a Doctor of Pharmacy award, you should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the fourth year of your current course (During year 1, or year 2 or year 3). Current P3001 students enrolled at the Parkville campus require a WAM of 60 or higher in order to be eligible to transfer into P6007. Please see current course transfer information online.
2. Submit a new course application for P4001 Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice
  To continue studying Pharmacy at a postgraduate level without a Doctor or Master of Pharmacy award, you should apply during the fourth year of your current course. Please see current admission information online.
3. Apply to transfer to P2001 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science
You should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the fourth year of your current course. A credit average is required in your current course. Please see current course transfer information online.
Please note that there are no options to transfer into Pharmacy Scholars programs as they are for school-leavers only.
Current P3002 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science Advanced (Honours) (4-year 192 credit point program) students can:
1. Exit early with a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science award only.
  During your final semester of third year, you may request an alternative exit. Upon completing 144 credit points (as specified in the Handbook, you will be completed with the P2001 award and be discontinued from your P3002 honours enrolment.
  Note that P3002 students who do not have a distinction average (WAM 70+) after successfully completing third year units are not eligible to commence the Honours component of this program and will automatically be completed with the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science award. The Faculty will discontinue their P3002 enrolment.
  Enrolment note: students enrolled in P3002 must complete BPS3072 Advanced professional experience in third year, regardless of whether they progress into fourth year or exit early. Students wanting to study BPS3062 Professional experience must transfer course into P2001 prior to third year.
2. Apply to transfer to P2001 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science.
  You should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the third year of your current course. A credit average is required in your current course. Please see current course transfer information online.
  Enrolment note: students enrolled in P2001 must complete either MON3500 Research, experimentation and discovery, or MON3750 - Monash Innovation Guarantee, or BPS3062 Advanced professional experience in third year. BPS3072 Advanced Professional experience is only available to P3002 students.
3. Apply to transfer to P6007 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy or P3001 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours).
  You should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the third year of your current course. A distinction average is required in your current course. Please see current course transfer information online. Note: no credit will be granted if you transfer into Pharmacy.
4. Submit a new course application for the Graduate Entry Pathway to P6007 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy
If completing a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science or Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science Advanced (Honours) award, you should apply in between August and December of your final year for commencement in Summer the following year. (The Graduate Entry Pathway to Pharmacy is available to students who have completed a relevant degree with a distinction average and permits entry at the third year level once an intensive program is successfully completed over Summer.)
Current P2001 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (3-year 144 credit point program) students can:
1. Submit a new course application for P3701 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (Honours)
  To continue studying Pharmaceutical Science at an Honours level, you should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply to P3701 during the third year of your current course. A distinction average is required in your current course.
2. Apply to transfer to P3002 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science Advanced Honours
  You should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the third year of your current course. A distinction average is required in your current course. Please see current course transfer information online.
  Note that P3002 students who do not have a distinction average (WAM 70+) after successfully completing third year units are not eligible to commence the Honours component of this program and will automatically be completed with the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science award. The Faculty will discontinue their P3002 enrolment.
  Enrolment note: students enrolled in P3002 must complete BPS3072 Advanced professional experience in third year, regardless of whether they progress into fourth year or exit early. BPS3062 Professional experience is only available to students enrolled in P2001.
3. Apply to transfer to P6007 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy
  You should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the third year of your current course. A distinction average (WAM 70+) is required in your current course. Please see current course transfer information online.
4. Submit a new course application for the Graduate Entry Pathway to P6007 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy
If completing a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science, you should apply in between August and December of your final year for commencement in Summer the following year. (The Graduate Entry Pathway to Pharmacy is available to students who have completed a relevant degree with a distinction average and permits entry at the third year level once an intensive program is successfully completed over Summer.)
Current E3008 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (4-year program) students can:
1. Transfer to P2001 Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science
  You should apply in October for commencement in Semester 1 the following year. You may only apply prior to commencing the fourth year of your current course. A credit average is required in your current course. Please see current course transfer information online. Due to mixed year level enrolment, the expected remaining course duration may be up to two years. Note: credit will be granted for BPS coded units only.
2. Transfer to another Monash University bachelor degree.
