Congratulations to Dr Akosua Agyeman, recent PhD graduate from Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences' Centre for Medicine Use and Safety (CMUS), on being awarded the 2021 Vice-Chancellor's Commendation for Thesis Excellence.

Her PhD thesis is entitled "Mechanism-based pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic modelling and meta-analysis to address challenges in antibiotic therapy for specific patient populations".

The Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation for Thesis Excellence was established to recognise and reward outstanding doctoral and research master’s thesis excellence. Each year, a maximum of five commendations are awarded to doctoral and/or research masters students, who have fulfilled their degree requirements and presented as outstanding contributors to research by their faculty.

Dr Agyeman's PhD supervision team consisted of Dr Cornelia Landersdorfer (main), Dr Phil Bergen (associate) and Dr Gauri Rao (external associate), a PharmAlliance collaborator at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr Agyeman is currently a Research Fellow in pharmacometrics and SARS-CoV-2 Viral Dynamics modelling at University College London, supervised Professor Joseph Standing.
