He also led the formation of the PharmAlliance partnership with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University College London to undertake significant pharmacy education, research and professional engagement projects.
Professor Arthur Christopoulos FAA FAHMS, current Dean of the Faculty says, “There are simply not enough words to express the unparalleled impact that Bill Charman has had on our Faculty, our University and our Profession, in addition to the countless staff, students and mentees that have had the privilege to benefit from his generosity, wisdom and support. The impact of Bill’s truly transformative achievements cannot be overstated; they have made our Faculty the research and education powerhouse that it is today, and will forever be an indelible part of the Faculty’s DNA. On behalf of the entire Faculty, I wish to thank Bill for his years of leadership, mentorship, friendship and service, wish him the best in his retirement, and am thrilled that he will remain with us as an Emeritus Sir John Monash Distinguished Professor - a most appropriate acknowledgment for a giant in our field."
