Master of Global Medicines Development

New in 2026, the Master of Global Medicines Development is a unique degree jointly offered by two of the highest-ranked schools in pharmacy and pharmacology in the world*.
Together, Monash University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will deliver this program, designed for students who aspire to leadership, coordination or administrative roles within a global medicines context.

Why study the Master of Global Medicines Development?
In our increasingly interconnected world, emerging diseases require an international approach to drug discovery and development, its regulatory frameworks and supply chain logistics. Against the backdrop of constantly changing global environments, skilled professionals with the expertise to coordinate drug development activities with cross-border perspectives will be in demand.
The Master of Global Medicines Development entry requirements are:
- An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacy, Science, Biomedical Science or Engineering (in an appropriate discipline e.g. Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Biomedical or Materials) with at least a credit (60%) average.
- This course is open to both domestic and international students. International students are also required to meet English language requirements:
- Monash Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test
Can I study the MGMD off-campus?
While some units are offered online (e.g. UNC staff teaching from the US), this is an on-campus course and you will be expected to attend classes at Monash Parkville. Some classes may be timetabled at 750 Collins Street in Docklands.
Are there Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) available?
At this time there are no CSP places available. Eligible students may apply for FEE-HELP.
Are there scholarships?
Scholarships for domestic and onshore international students, and international students who have studied overseas, are available for this course in 2026.
