Health background

• Asthma
• Has had asthma since kindergarten and has been on the same medications for about 6 years.
• Previously used a different preventer, he can't remember the name, but it was an inhaler (not a turbuhaler).
• Used prednisolone tablets years ago as a child.
• Visits the doctor 1-2 times a year to have his asthma reviewed or to get new prescriptions.
• Collects a budesonide turbuhaler every few month from his usual pharmacy (one inhaler lasts this amount of time). Collects Ventolin only when he needs a new inhaler.
• Uses a spacer at home, but can't be bothered taking the spacer with him when he goes out (eg to footy training) because of its size.

Medications

• Budesonide turbuhaler, 100 mcg bd
• Salbutamol 100 mcg inhaler prn
• Ibuprofen (Nurofen) after playing a hard game of footy (hasn't worsened his asthma)

Other comments

• Very social. Parties most weekends, staying out late. Parents not too sure what happens when he's out.
• Says he doesn't have a girlfriend. Plays footy and basketball.
