“My favourite wellbeing activity is to garden and get my hands dirty. It’s probably one of the only times I totally switch off.”

“Going for a walk with my pooch is a daily ritual I enjoy just as much as he does. No matter how busy, hectic or stressful a day has been, it's 30–40 minutes of my day where I'm able to just reflect on life, gather my thoughts, decompress, turn off all distractions and enjoy being out in nature.”

“Sports has always been a huge part of my life since primary school. It helps me meet new people and keep myself physically fit.”

“My 'switch off' button has always been outdoors with my horse, at the beach or on the water with my kids. They enable me to focus on what is important and to stop stressing about the 'small stuff'.”

Doug Scott
“For my own wellbeing I play the bagpipes and cricket – although not at the same time. I also have a wonderful family and group of friends that keep me going.”
-
Eileen Scott Stokes
“For my own wellbeing my favourite pastime is to walk empty windswept beaches – the stormier the better. The grandeur and power of the natural environment puts things into perspective for me. A close second involves coffee!”
-
Hannah Yared
“My dad is from Eritrea and coffee forms a big part of our culture. It’s how we connect with our community. This includes my family going for weekly coffee catch-ups at our favourite cafe and sitting outside where all the action is. I’m a very social person, so connecting with family and friends is my absolute favourite way to take care of my wellbeing.”

“Most mornings I get up early and take my dogs for a walk while listening to an audiobook. This helps ease the stress of daily tasks I need to get to. I like routine exercise and goals that are meaningful to me, like reading a set number of new books every year.”
-
Jessica Rodaughan
“I like to spend time in spaces that inspire and energise me. I try to go for a walk each day — it helps to clear my mind and walking on Country gives me energy.”

“I became interested in the connection between mind and body so I studied to become a yoga teacher in 2019. I am also grateful for my dog Daisy, who got me through numerous lockdowns in Melbourne over the last 20 months. She gets me out of bed every morning and finds small beauties on our walks.”

Nicole Rinehart
“I walk every day. As I walk I reflect on how lucky I am to have my dream career and wonderful family and friends. This is how I support my own wellbeing.”
-
Raelene Dundon
“For my wellbeing I like to walk. There’s a bush reserve near my home with a walking track, and I enjoy walking through the reserve and taking a moment to stop and watch the ducks in the creek. I also sometimes like to play 'Pokemon Go' while I walk.”
